Book your Move In/Out Clean for after the movers leave and before your final walkthrough. End-of-month dates fill up first.
- 02
The week of the move
Gather keys, fobs and garage remotes, and replace burned-out bulbs. Repairs, patching and painting aren't part of the clean.
- 03
Moving day
Empty the fridge, freezer, cabinets and closets, and keep the water and electricity on. Leave access details in your booking notes.
- 04
The clean
Your pro cleans inside the fridge, oven, microwave, cabinets and closets, plus baseboards, window tracks, bathrooms and floors, with all supplies brought in.
- 05
Check the home
Walk through before your pro leaves, so anything you'd like touched up gets done on the spot.
- 06
The walkthrough
Compare the home with your move-in photos or your landlord's checklist, then hand over the keys.
Landlords and buyers look closely at the places that get skipped in a regular clean: inside the oven and fridge, cabinets and drawers, bathroom grime, baseboards and window tracks. A Move In/Out Clean covers all of them.
Move-out cleaning questions
How much does move out cleaning cost in Chicago?
At Grovewell, a Move In/Out Clean for a typical studio is about $209, a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home of about 1,000 sq ft is about $279, and a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home of about 1,500 sq ft is about $343. Your exact price depends on square footage, bedrooms and bathrooms, and you see it instantly when you book.
What's included in a move-out clean?
Everything in a Deep Clean, plus inside the fridge, oven and microwave, inside all kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers, inside closets, windows, window tracks and blinds, and baseboards throughout. All supplies are included.
Does the home need to be empty?
It works best in an empty or nearly empty home, so the team can reach inside every cabinet, closet and appliance. If you're still living there with furniture in place, a Deep Clean is usually the better fit.
Will a move-out clean help me get my security deposit back?
Our checklist covers the spots landlords and property managers usually check, like inside the oven and fridge, cabinets, bathrooms, floors and baseboards. We can't promise what your landlord decides, but we check in before your pro leaves so you can point out anything to touch up.
When should I schedule my move-out clean?
After the movers leave and before your final walkthrough or key handoff. Book a few days ahead, especially at the end of the month, when most Chicago leases turn over.
Do I need to be there?
No. Many clients leave a key with the front desk, a lockbox or a door code. Add the access details to your booking notes.
Is a move-in clean the same as a move-out clean?
Yes. It's the same top-to-bottom clean, done before you unpack, so cabinets, closets and appliances are clean before your things go in.
Do you shampoo carpets or wash walls?
No. Carpet shampooing, wall washing, painting and junk removal aren't included. Patios, balconies and garage sweeps can be added when you book.
Do I pay before the clean?
No. There is no deposit and no upfront charge. Your card is charged only after the clean is complete.
